Prochuangia was named by Kobayashi (1935) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Dres-u Cm Fran-u Sepkoski's reference number: 16,464]. It is not extant.
It was assigned to Corynexochida by Sepkoski (2002); to Pagodiidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Leiostegiidae by Peng et al. (2004).
