Taxonomy
Permocicada simulatrix was named by Martynov (1935). Its type specimen is PIN 2334/83, a tegmen (tegmen without clavus & extreme base), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Soyana (PIN collection 2334), which is in a Roadian lagoonal sandstone in the Iva-Gora Beds Formation of the Russian Federation.
