Formica obscura

Taxonomy
Formica obscura was named by Heer (1849). Its type specimen is UMJG&P 77.536, an exoskeleton (wings and abdomen), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Radoboj (unspecified or Heer coll), which is in a Sarmatian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in Croatia.

It was recombined as Lasius obscurus by Mayr (1867), Bolton (2012).
