Oecophylla obesa
Taxonomy
Formica obesa was named by Heer (1849). Its type specimen is UMJG&P 77.625, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Radoboj (Grätz Collection), which is in a Sarmatian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in Croatia.
It was recombined as Oecophylla obesa by Mayr (1867), Deichmüller (1881), Dlussky et al. (2008), Bolton (2012), Dlussky and Putyatina (2014), Perfilieva et al. (2017) and Perfilieva (2021).
