Taxonomy

Dictyophara was named by Germar (1833). It is extant. It is the type genus of Dyctiophoroides, Dictyopharinae, Dictyopharini.

It was assigned to Fulgoridae by Piton (1940); to Dictyopharidae by Scudder (1890), Becker-Migdisova (1964), Szwedo et al. (2004); and to Dictyopharini by Song et al. (2018).
