Discussion

One of the most amazing fossil insects, exhibits exceptional detail and clarity. This fossil is responsible for inspiring Frank M. Carpenter to become a paleoentomologist. Collected by the Mrs. Charlotte Hill a homesteader who helped discover many important fossils.

Taxonomy
Prodryas persephone was named by Scudder (1878). Its type specimen is MCZ 1, an exoskeleton (amazing specimen), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Florissant (MCZ Collection), which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.
