It was synonymized subjectively with Ampelipteridae by Shcherbakov (1994).

It was assigned to Raphidioptera by Martynova (1961); to Neoptera by Nel et al. (2012); to Plecoptera by Schubnel et al. (2019); and to Holometabola by Sroka et al. (2025).
