Laurentiptera gallica
Taxonomy
Pseudodiptera gallica was named by Laurentiaux and Grauvogel (1953). Its type specimen is IGULP 7888, an exoskeleton (poorly preserved body & well preserved pair of wings), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Vilsberg, which is in an Aegean delta plain claystone/siltstone in the Grès à Voltzia Formation of France. It is the type species of Laurentiptera, Pseudodiptera.
It was recombined as Laurentiptera gallica by Willmann (1978) and Krzemiński and Krzemińska (1996).
