Liassophilidae was named by Tillyard (1933).

It was assigned to Trichoptera by Carpenter (1992); to Mecoptera by Krzemiński and Krzemińska (1996); and to Paratrichoptera by Tillyard (1933) and Novokshonov (2002).

Synonyms

Laurentipteridae was named by Martynova and Willmann (1978).

It was synonymized subjectively with Liassophilidae by Krzemiński and Krzemińska (1996).

It was assigned to Mecoptera by Willmann (1978) and Carpenter (1992).
Pseudodipteridae was named by Martynova (1961).

It was replaced with Laurentipteridae by Martynova and Willmann (1978); it was synonymized subjectively with Liassophilidae by Krzemiński and Krzemińska (1996).
