Taxonomy
Ferganopterus longus was named by Gorochov (1989). Its type specimen is PIN 2240/4225, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Madygen, PIN collection 2240, Dzhailoucho area, which is in a Ladinian lacustrine - small siliciclastic in the Madygen Formation of Kyrgyzstan.
