Taxonomy
Popovigocimex yurii was named by Martins-Neto and Gallego (2003). Its type specimen is PULR-I 271, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Rio Gualo (5th cycle), which is in a Carnian lacustrine - large claystone in the Los Rastros Formation of Argentina.
