Taxonomy
Lariojaprosbole melchori was named by Martins-Neto and Gallego (2001). Its type specimen is PULR-I 257a and is an impression. Its type locality is Quebrada de Ischichuca Chica, which is in a Carnian lacustrine - large sandstone in the Los Rastros Formation of Argentina.
