Taxonomy
Archiaustroconops borkenti was named by Pérez-de la Fuente et al. (2011). Its type specimen is ES-07-17, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is El Soplao amber, which is in an Albian terrestrial amber in the Las Penosas Formation of Spain.
