Taxonomy
Floriscolia relicta was named by Rasnitsyn (1993). Its type specimen is AMNH 28775, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Florissant (AMNH Collection), which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado. It is the type species of Floriscolia.
