Calymenidius was named by Rasetti (1944) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Trep O Llvi-u Sepkoski's reference number: 795]. It is not extant. Its type is Calymenidius tuberculatus.
It was assigned to Lonchocephalidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002).
