Taxonomy
Tagsmiphron olentzero was named by Ortega-Blanco et al. (2011). Its type specimen is MCNA 12733, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Peñacerrada outcrop I, which is in an Albian terrestrial amber in the Escucha Formation of Spain.
