Myrmicium heerii
Taxonomy
Myrmicium heerii was named by Westwood (1854). Its type specimen is BMNH I.3990, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Durlston Bay, Lower Purbeck, Swanage (Brodie coll.), which is in a Berriasian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Lulworth Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Myrmicium.
It was recombined as Pseudosirex heeri by Handlirsch (1906).
