Taxonomy
Dendrogyra dumblei was named by Wells (1933). It is not extant. Its type locality is Speck's Crossing, Guadalupe River, which is in an Albian carbonate limestone in the Edwards Limestone Formation of Texas.
It was recombined as Myriophyllia dumblei by Filkorn and Pantoja-Alor (2009).
