Karataus pedalis
Taxonomy
Karataus pedalis was named by Rasnitsyn (1977). Its type specimen is PIN 2997/5003, an exoskeleton (complete insect), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Karatau-Mikhailovka (PIN collection 2997), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large siltstone in the Karabastau Formation of Kazakhstan. It is the type species of Karataus.
