Taxonomy
Gerocynips florenskayae was named by Kovalev (1994). Its type specimen is PIN 3901/111, an exoskeleton (female), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Obeshchayushchiy (PIN collection 3901), which is in a Campanian lacustrine - small mudstone in the Ola Formation of the Russian Federation.
