Metopiosa fossiliata

Taxonomy
Metopiosa fossiliata was named by Khalaim (2008). Its type specimen is PIN 3429/892, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Bolshaya Svetlovodnaya, Biamo, layer 5 (PIN collection 3429), which is in a Priabonian lacustrine diatomite in the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Metopiosa.
