Lithopsyche antiqua
Taxonomy
Lithopsyche antiqua was named by Butler (1889). Its type specimen is NHML I.19984, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Bembridge Marls (A'Court Smith collection), which is in a Priabonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Bouldnor Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Lithopsyche.
