Taxonomy
Gryllacris schlieffeni was named by Geinitz (1884). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Dobbertin, Mecklenburg (Greifswald collection), which is in a Toarcian offshore claystone in Germany.
It was recombined as Geinitzia schlieffeni by Handlirsch (1906), Zeuner (1939) and Storozhenko (1998).
