Taxonomy
Davispia bearcreekensis was named by Cooper (1941). Its type specimen is PU 24001, a tegmen, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Foster Gulch, Eagle coal mine, Bear Creek, which is in a Thanetian lacustrine shale in the Fort Union Formation of Montana. It is the type species of Davispia.
