Taxonomy
Indepsylla mortua was named by Klimaszewski (1996). Its type specimen is AMNH DR-10-1620, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (AMNH coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
It was recombined as Limbopsylla mortua by Burckhardt and Ouvrard (2012).
