Narkemina angustiformis was named by Sharov (1961). Its type specimen is PIN 1281/249, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Zheltyi Yar (PIN collection 1281), which is in a Gzhelian pond siliciclastic in the Alykaevskaya Formation of the Russian Federation.
It was synonymized subjectively with Narkemina angustata by Storozhenko (1998).
