Taxonomy
Oligocixia electrina was named by Gebicki and Wegierek (1993). Its type specimen is NHMW 1984/39/7, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dominican amber (NHMW coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic. It is the type species of Oligocixia.
