Taxonomy
Proasaphiscus (Honanaspis) was named by Chang (1959). It is not extant. Its type is Proasaphiscus (Honanaspis) honanensis.

It was reranked as Honanaspis by Lu and Zhu (2001).

It was assigned to Proasaphiscus by Chang (1959); and to Proasaphiscidae by Lu and Zhu (2001).
