Taxonomy
Proasaphiscus quadratus was named by Zhang et al. (1980). It is not extant. Its type locality is Shuiyu, Zhongtiao Mountains, bed 34, which is in a Taijangian carbonate limestone/marl in the Zhangxia Formation of China.
