Taxonomy
Archiaustroconops hamus was named by Borkent (2000). Its type specimen is AMNH JS 51 BM 43, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Lebanese amber, Jezzine (AMNH collection), which is in a Barremian terrestrial amber in Lebanon.
