Taxonomy
Phatnoma mattijoae was named by Jepson et al. (2011). Its type specimen is NHM II 3047, an exoskeleton (whole insect), and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber, La Bucara (BMNH coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
