Taxonomy
Derephysia penalveri was named by Golub and Popov (2000). Its type specimen is MPV-1072-RM, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Rio Rubielos (MPV coll), which is in an Orleanian lacustrine - large mudstone in Spain.
