Taxonomy
Apanthesis leuce was named by Scudder (1889). Its type specimen is MCZ 16354, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Florissant (Long collection), which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado. It is the type species of Apanthesis.
