Taxonomy
Mixorthezia dominicana was named by Vea and Grimaldi (2012). Its type specimen is AMNH DR19-1, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (AMNH coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
