Archimyrmex piatnitzkii
Taxonomy
Ameghinoia piatnitzkyi was named by Viana and Haedo Rossi (1957). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Pilcaniyeu road, near Rio Pichileufu, which is in a Lutetian crater lake mudstone in the Ventana Formation of Argentina.
It was recombined as Archimyrmex piatnitzkyi by Dlussky and Perfilieva (2003); it was recombined as Archimyrmex piatnitzkii by Archibald et al. (2006) and Dlussky (2012).
