Taxonomy
Apis (Synapis) henshawi was named by Cockerell (1907). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Rott (MCZ coll), which is in a MP 30 lacustrine - large lignite in the Rott Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Apis henshawi by Engel (1998), Engel (2006) and Engel et al. (2009).
