Taxonomy

Hypoclinea goepperti was named by Mayr (1868).

It was recombined as Iridomyrmex goepperti by Theobald (1937), Brown (1976), Spahr (1987); it was recombined as Liometopum goepperti by Shattuck (1992); it was recombined as Ctenobethylus goepperti by Dlussky (2002), Heterick and Shattuck (2011), Dunlop et al. (2014).

Synonyms

Ctenobethylus succinalis was named by Brues (1939). Its type specimen is MCZ 7666, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic amber (MCZ collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.

It was synonymized subjectively with Iridomyrmex goepperti by Brown (1976), Sorg (1988); it was synonymized subjectively with Ctenobethylus goepperti by Dlussky (2002).
