Taxonomy
Cephalotes resinae was named by de Andrade (1999). Its type specimen is SMNS Do-3566, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican copal (SMNS coll), which is in a Holocene terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
