Taxonomy
Monacis prolaminata was named by Wilson (1985). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber, Palo Quemado (MCZ coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
It was recombined as Dolichoderus prolaminatus by Mackay (1993) and Fernández and Sendoya (2004).
