Taxonomy
Technomyrmex caritatis was named by Brandão and Baroni Urbani (1999). Its type specimen is MCCB 0060, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber, Palo Quemado (MCB coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
