Eocicada microcephala

Taxonomy
Eocicada microcephala was named by Oppenheim (1888). Its type specimen is BSPGM (lost), an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Solnhofen (BSPGM Munich coll), which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.

Synonyms
  • Eocicada lameerei was named by Handlirsch (1906). Its type specimen is Geological Institute of the Brussels University (lost), an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Bayern (Brussel Collection), which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Eocicada microcephala by Wang et al. (2010).
