Taxonomy
Pseudosirex nanus was named by Handlirsch (1906). It is an impression. Its type locality is Eichstätt, Solnhofen (Naturhistorischen Museum Wien collection), which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Myrmicium nanus by Ponomarenko (1985) and Taeger et al. (2010).
