Taxonomy
Lycoria schremmeri was named by Bachmayer (1961). Its type specimen is NHMW 402/1961, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Brunn-Vösendorf, which is in a Messinian lacustrine - large mudstone in Austria.
It was recombined as Sciara schremmeri by Evenhuis (1994).
