Taxonomy
Cyonasua pascuali was named by Linares (1981). Its type specimen is AM 45985, a mandible (right mandible with pm2-m2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is San Carlos East, which is in a Huayquerian terrestrial horizon in the Huayquerías Formation of Argentina.
