Taxonomy
Xyela (Xyela) micrura was named by Rasnitsyn (1995). Its type specimen is LACMIP 4013, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Rott (Statz Collection), which is in a Chattian lacustrine - small shale in the Rott Formation of Germany.
