Taxonomy
Emiliana alexandri was named by Shcherbakov (2006). Its type specimen is PIN 4621/546, a tegmen, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Anvil Points (PIN collection 4621), which is in a Bridgerian lacustrine - large mudstone in the Green River Formation of Colorado. It is the type species of Emiliana.
