Palpomyia shilo
Taxonomy
Miopalpomyia shilo was named by Pierce (1966). Its type specimen is LACMIP S9130, a nymph (pupa), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Site 2D (LACMIP 351), Calico Hills, which is in a Hemingfordian lacustrine - large shale in the Barstow Formation of California.
It was recombined as Palpomyia shilo by Borkent and Wirth (1997), Borkent (2013), Borkent and Dominiak (2020).
