Carlocebus carmenensis

Taxonomy
Carlocebus carmenensis was named by Fleagle (1990). Its type specimen is MACN-SC 266, a mandible (Mandibular ramus preserviing rp4 m1-2 and alveoli for p2-4 m3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is El Carmen Lower, Pinturas Fm., Lago Buenos Aires, Santa Cruz, which is in a Burdigalian terrestrial horizon in the Pinturas Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Carlocebus.
