Olgamartynovia ignorata was named by Popov (1982). Its type specimen is PIN 371/629, an elytra (Elytrum and part of body), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Ak-Bulak-Say, Sogjuta, Issyk-Kul (PIN Collection 371), which is in a Hettangian/Sinemurian lacustrine - small siliciclastic in the Dzhil Formation of Kyrgyzstan.

It was recombined as Cicadocoris ignoratus by Dong et al. (2013), Jiang et al. (2018).
