Areomartus ovatus
Taxonomy
Areomartus ovatus was named by Petrunkevitch (1913). Its type specimen is USNM 6068, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Cotton Hill, Fayette County, which is in a Westphalian B terrestrial siliciclastic in the Kanawha Formation of West Virginia. It is the type species of Areomartus.
